UCONN OFFERS 2010 PROSPECT TOBIAS HARRIS

Jim Calhoun and the staff at Connecticut wasted no time getting involved with 6'8, 215 lb forward Tobias Harris from Long Island.

Tobias Harris is Among the Elite Prospects of 2010 (NBE Basketball Report) and his size and skill level, along with his impressive GPA, make him a valued commodity among college recruiters.

Do not expect Harris to follow the national trend of early commitments, but schools should not wait to get involved either, according to his father, Torrel Harris, a former college basketball player at Duquesne University.

2009 COMMITS WORKING WAY TO STORRS

The Hartford Courant's Mike Anthony has an excellent article on Alex Oriakhi and Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, the two earliest commitments Connecticut ever received when they pledged to Jim Calhoun's program in August of 2006, between their freshman and sophomore years of high school.

Oriakhi and Coombs Continue on Road to UConn (Hartford Courant) with a stop at the Tilton Boarding School in New Hampshire. This is an excellent read on life at a New England prep school for basketball players.
